There is something rather odd about the way I have been taught the Bible during all my religion lessons. There always was something a bit off about those interpretations people from various faiths wanted me to believe. Some actually outright stated it that way. We were supposed to make up our mind about the Bible for ourselves. But we were supposed to come to the same conclusions as they did.

I think my case is one of those which should concern people who believe just reading the Word of God would make people want to change to their point of view in an instant. If that worked I wouldn’t be agnostic right now. Yes, I have a blog about the Bible and call myself an agnostic. After a few years of pondering the issues that came with the belief I was born in I decided that I cannot know anything about it for sure. And that I have to find my own truth somehow. So this blog is not so much a try to find the truth in the Bible, more one which concerns itself with the textual, and mostly the ethical implications inherent in it. In other words, mostly I just look at certain parts of the Bible and wonder aloud: what the fuck did God think when he said that or did that?
Because seriously, the “good book” has a whole lot of shit in it that’s seriously wrong.
